125g plain flour

2 x 5ml spoon baking powder

pinch salt

150ml milk

1 large egg, beaten​​

1 x 5ml spoon sugar

30ml sunflower oil

maple syrup to serve

 

American Pancakes

  • Sieve all the dry ingredients into a bowl.

  • Make a well in the centre.

  • Whisk the egg in a jug.

  • Gradually pour the egg into the well, mixing continuously until smooth.

  • Add the milk a litte at a time also stirring it in.

  • Add a little oil to a small frying pan then place 2-3 spoonfulls of batter in the pan and cook forabout one minute, flip with a spatula or fork.

  • Cook on the other side for another 45 seconds 

  • Continue this cooking process untill you run out of batter.

  • Serve with maple syrup and/or wipped cream.
